Ethics and Cultures Essay

In the article â€Å"American Values and Assumptions† (American Ways: A guide for Foreigners, 2003), Gary Althen examines about the qualities and suppositions of American societies and whether in the event that they are useful or unsafe to American culture. In America, individuals have solid rivalry toward others and furthermore they invest energy in their protection. Both American culture’s worth and supposition that are gainful to American culture. American culture that is having a solid rivalry is helpful to American culture on the grounds that having rivalries make you contrast yourself and other people who are better than you and it makes you attempt to improve as an at what you are contending on. â€Å"Competitiveness is more subtle when it is in the psyches of individuals who are reliably contrasting themselves and other: who is quicker, more brilliant, more extravagant, better looking;† (Althen 8). For instance, in sports, each competitor attempts to improve as a player than other who is superior to them. â€Å"Individualistic Americans normally consider themselves to be being in rivalry with others† (Althen 7). Rivalry brings the best player for American culture and it is helpful on the grounds that America will have better competitors and contenders contrast with different nations where they don’t have rivalries. Security is advantageous to American culture in American culture since everybody need time to recuperate their mental vitality that was spent. Likewise, not having an individual time when you invested your energy without anyone else is having a tendency to known as a frail individual or ward. â€Å"’need some an opportunity to themselves’ or ‘some time alone’ to consider things or recuperate their spent mental energy† (Althen 8). Having a period alone is significant and helpful in light of the fact that individuals regularly need an opportunity to think without anyone else and having somebody close to all of you the time won’t get you an autonomous quality where you have to accomplish something by your own.
